Sheriff David Hobbs would like to welcome you to the website of the Sheriff’s Office. Here you will find information about the Sheriff, his deputies and support staff. Information about community service events and links to other agencies or public information websites can also be found.

Jefferson County is comprised of an area of 637 square miles and is the only county in Florida to border both the state of Georgia and the Gulf of Mexico. The County has approximately 13,000 citizens. We provide 24 Hr Law Enforcement service to the citizens and various enterprises within our boundaries. We have 19 Full-time Deputies and 4 Reserve Deputies, supported by an Administrative staff and supplemented by a Jail staff.

The Sheriff's Office is dedicated to provide non-discriminatory, effective and efficient law enforcement service in protecting the life and property of the citizens of Jefferson County, and to ensure that the constitutional rights of all persons are protected.

Monticello is the county seat of Jefferson County. The Sheriff’s Office is located in the Jefferson County Industrial Park at 171 Industrial Park in Monticello and can be found south of the county seat, along U.S. Highway 19.
